What is a Healthy Church Member?

Do you know what a healthy Christian looks like? Have you ever thought about your own spiritual health? After your conversion, did anyone walk you through what a Christian should do? If you answered “no” to any of the questions, you are in the majority. Listen to what Jenny said from this book; “I expected that after my conversion someone would have helped me to grow as a Christian, but it was as if people put me in a corner somewhere, as if they expected me to figure things out on my own. It was a terrible and lonely time.”

Can I be honest with you? I felt the same way when I first became a Christian. I am convinced that many in church today who has attended church all their lives and still have no idea what a healthy Christian looks like biblically. But there is help! This book will help you have a better understanding what a healthy church member/Christian looks like. I encourage you to get a copy.  Read it and pass it on. We have to do our part to become a healthy member and we need God’s help. When members of a church are healthy the church will be healthy. Jerry Bridges said it well about the local church:

For many years I took an individualistic approach to the Christian life. I was concerned about my growth as a Christian, my progress in holiness, my acquisition of ministry skills. I prayed that God would enable me to be more holy in my personal life and more effective in my evangelism. I asked God’s blessing on my church and the Christian organization I worked for. But as I learned more about true fellowship, I began to pray that we as the Body of Christ would grow in holiness, that we would be more effective witnesses to the saving grace of Christ. It is the entire BODY – not just me – that needs to grow.
