Piper, Carson, and Keller on Sustaining the Covenant of Marital Love

I wonder if there is any marriage out there that has not been through the fire. I don’t want to be a skeptic but I am pretty sure if two sinners try to do life together, there will be problems. Every good marriage must go through times of testing. Trying times in marriage, if rightly understood and handled can be a beautiful picture of Christ and his church. I love the following discussion about sustaining a covenant of marital love by Piper, Carson and Keller.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote, “It is not your love that sustains the marriage, but from now on, the marriage that sustains your love.”
